Stop & Sketch 2020

April 7th, 2020

Following an amazing response and stunning exhibition last year, we were hoping to launch Stop & Sketch 2020 at the Abergavenny Wrting Festival. Sadly, due to CV19 we were not able to do this.We would still like to go ahead with the project as we intend to continue to build up the sketchbook library.

It may also be very useful activity for people and families to fill up some of their time whilst in isolation. There are no rules, just get creative and fill up the sketchbook using any medium and any subject.

Sketchbooks are available by calling Pam on 07823 517547 or message us through the facebook page www.facebook.com/stop&sketch. You may, of course, submit your own sketchbook.

We will have to make a decision later in the year as to whether we can hold the exhibition of the sketchbooks at The Melville but in the meantime participants could keep in touch and share pictures of their work on the facebook page.

We are hoping to build on last years’ entries so that eventually we will have a permanent library displaying these sketchbooks in the town.

A comment from one of last years’ talented contributors:
“Well done to the organisers! I loved creating my sketchbook, trying to fill so many pages in such a short amount of time really challenged me and encouraged me to be more creative and try different media and techniques. It was an inspirational, fun, creative experience. Thank you!”
