The Dance Centre situated in the heart of Abergavenny is an inspirational space for the whole community and is the home of Dance Blast, the community arts organistion for Monmouthshire.
You can try your hand (or rather your feet) at: Zumba, Street Fit, Dance Fit 50+, Parent & Toddler, Tea Dance, Tap, Salsa, Yoga, Ballroom, Jive, Disabled Dance, Contemporary, and Creative.
We are delighted to add Drama provision to the menu starting this September.
We believe in nurturing young people’s creativity and self expression through the power of the creative arts. The new drama workshops will work from a devised model of theatre making ensuring that all performances are crafted from the participants’ own ideas and creativity.
We also run Monmouthshire Youth Dance Company. The aim of which is to nurture young talented dancers enabling them to excel and shine. Professional tutors and choreographers from across the UK are engaged to work with our young talented participants enhancing their experience. Many participants go on to study dance at university.
We also run Socials, so If you’re fed up with the usual routine of pub, or a night in watching the TV, then the Dance Centre has the solution. Socials are are chance to meet friends old and new, enjoy a few drinks, and have fun! The first Social, Tangled Up In Dylan is on Saturday 29th November 7.30pm (tickets £4, all ages welcome) Tangled Up In Dylan is a gig by the fabulous band The Open Secrets. The Open Secrets write and perform some of the finest Americana being played in the UK today and usually perform original material. Over several months the band have taken time out to develop a project interpreting and performing Dylan’s songs. This is a tribute to Dylan and not the Open Secrets as tribute act.
