Why learn meditation? Because it helps you relax which in turn makes you happier, calmer and kinder.


The Abergavenny Meditation Community is a friendly and informal group where you can learn to meditate and practise with others. The techniques we use are drawn from Buddhism but can be done by anyone and are easy to learn. You do not need to be a Buddhist or have any previous meditation experience to join the group (though if you do that’s great as well!). The group meets every Monday except bank holidays 7:15pm-8:45pm at the Abergavenny Community Centre.

When you start to learn meditation it can be very helpful to join a group – this keeps you focused and means you can ask questions as you learn.

Whilst every individual is different it isn’t an exaggeration to say that meditation is a useful tool for almost anyone. It can drastically reduce stress and helps us interact more positively with others. You can do it anytime, anywhere and in any situation. Meditation calms the mind and helps us react to problems in a down to earth and effective way. Essentially, meditation can empower you to overcome difficulty.

The sessions are facilitated by Ben Henriques, a Buddhist practitioner with over fifteen years of meditation experience. If you are interested in attending or have any questions please email or call Ben (ben@henriques.org / 07922848765).

Sessions are donation only with a suggested donation of £5 per person. All proceeds go towards the group’s running costs.
