Easter is only around the corner, so what better way to celebrate than with an Easter Egg Hunt?
Here at the Focus, we thought it might be fun to hide some Easter Eggs around Abergavenny for you to find. However, given all the snow and wet weather, the idea of hiding chocolate under a bush was never going to work, so we decided to hide painted rocks instead.
All you have to do is follow our clues to find one of 5 hidden rocks, take it home with you, (for proof!) take a photo of it, and send the photo to us via email info@thefocus.wales, or post the photo to our Facebook page @TheAbergavennyFocus and we’ll reward you with a delicious chocolate Easter egg!
In order to give everyone a fair chance, the rule is that you can only claim one egg per household/family. We’ll update our Facebook page throughout the month to let you know when the rocks have been found and how many are left. If its proving too difficult, we’ll also give out some more clues.
So, get searching! The rocks are out there right now, waiting to be claimed. Meanwhile, we’ll attempt not to eat the prizes! Here are the clues. Happy Hunting!
CLUES
1. A beautiful view that has been rocking our world since 1875. Previously, trees have been known to sport colourful woolen adornments!
2. Fancy a dip? You’d be lucky. There’s no water here anymore, but who knows… in the future maybe! STONE FOUND BY MARTHA TURNER: In the sensory garden in Bailey Park, on the site of the old lido.
3. This location is no ugly duckling! With a ring of stones and the river running by, it’s a true swan! STONE FOUND BY ROSALIE CALLARD: Beside a standing stone in Swan Meadows.
4. Finders keepers, but don’t take a tumble and fall in or you’ll end up wet, with a long walk to the bottom of the mountain to get dry! STONE FOUND BY ELLA-MAY AND OLLY BURTON: Near Keepers Pond on the Blorenge.
5. A Holy place, evermore broken at the moment of crucifixion. A walk to St Michael’s Chapel is great, but find the stone much further down where paths ascend. STONE FOUND BY AMBER AND LOGAN MORRIS-POWLEY At the foot of the Skirrid.
