Monmouthshire County Council is seeking volunteers with a passion for the area to provide a warm welcome to visitors at this summer’s National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny.  The Monmouthshire Eisteddfod Ambassadors will offer useful information and promote the wide range of activities and events across the county to encourage visitors to explore the area during their stay.  They will operate on the Maes and in the town itself.  Locations will include arrival points and the town’s tourist information centre.

Ambassadors will be required to commit to at least two four hour sessions – from 10am to 2pm or 2pm to 6pm – over eight days that the Monmouthshire & District National Eisteddfod will be held in Abergavenny.  The Eisteddfod runs from Friday 29th July to Saturday 6th August.

Monmouthshire Eisteddfod Ambassadors should be able to communicate effectively in English and Welsh and support and training for the posts will be provided.  In return, volunteers will receive a day ticket to attend the Eisteddfod for every four hour session completed and they will receive opportunities to undertake additional training and development as well as a chance to share skills and develop new ones.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
