The vision of a number of active community members, partnerships with public, private and community sectors plus a lot of hard work and not a little luck, brought about the establishment of Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre (CRiC) in the heart of Crickhowell 10 years ago.

CRiC is a Charitable Company which was set up to support and regenerate local businesses and organisations and to maintain a vibrant and active town.

It achieves this by providing services such as the Tourist Information Centre, and promotes local businesses and products by providing a website, retail space and cost-effective conference and office facilities.
CRiC is now a hub for a range of community organisations, with more than 30 groups and organisations benefiting from CRiC’s services and facilities in order to carry out their functions.

Since opening the Centre with the small team of part time staff and numerous volunteers  CRiC has:

  • welcomed around 50,000 visitors a year to the centre
  • a membership of and provide support to 140 tourist related businesses
  • supported numerous local artists through displays in our magnificent gallery and such events as the annual open studios and workshops
  • provided a venue for skills development ,courses and training to hundreds of individuals
  • supports and houses the Volunteer bureau who in turn support over 600 individuals in the community

The Next 10 Years
There is no doubt that the economic situation  continues to provide us with many challenges. Most vital is   to maintain and sustain this valuable and much envied facility for Crickhowell. Continuing to develop in order to stay relevant is the challenge for CRiC in the next 10years,  andto do that we would value some more volunteers who will help us to continue to offer  an experience to our local customers and visitors from other areas, which is excellent, friendly and courteous.

Bring your existing skills  to our café, gallery, or in front line information and services, to present and represent the public face of CRiC by volunteering with us. We can help you build on your skills and provide opportunities for training and work experience.

If you think you would like to join our existing team and feel you have time and skills to offer we would love to hear from you.
