Crickhowell Pantomime starts on Thursday 29th January 2015, and the tickets are in the shops already.
The allotments have been prepared for Jack’s Beanstalk, and Yoghurty the Cow is on a high fibre diet – for obvious reasons. We have a big ugly giant, who keeps yelling ‘Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum’ when he’s hungry. So if you are queuing in the butchers and you hear those words behind you, get the big ‘un served first before he sinks his teeth in your leg! (Although local butchers are not actually selling joints of English Mun or Welsh Mun at this time.)
Meanwhile, plans are afoot to make room for the giant beanstalk in the Clarence Hall. The cast are busy rehearsing, with some of them learning their songs as well. The junior dancers are already almost foot-perfect, and the orchestra have been orchestrated.
The technical team have been sorting through the Farrow & Ball catalogue, looking for bargains, and the Props Department are spending most of Christmas in the Red Cross or St David’s shops – you can’t get new giant-sized saucepans any more.
We will have the Saturday Matinee again this year – so if Dad comes along then he can still spend all Saturday night in the pub. Refreshments are provided by the Friends of Crickhowell Primary School, and doors are open at the Clarence from 6:30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 29-31 January 2015, or 2pm for the Matinee. Only £5 a seat, with West End quality performances – See you there!
