This June and, for one day only, you can ride the Road of Champions! You will ride on Saturday 28th and the champs will ride on Sunday 29th but whether or not you are a rider, there’s no need to miss out as there is plenty of fun to be had and lively entertainment to enjoy at the Bike Bash @Bailey Park.
From 10am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday, feel your senses come alive in Bailey Park, where you will find an abundance of displays and exhibits, things to buy and taste and plenty to listen to…
Bailey Park has been cleverly divided up into various areas (all named after parts of the bike or rider’s accessories) to make your visit easy to plan and as enjoyable as possible:
For a food and drink pit-stop, be sure to visit The FORKS to sample a vast array of delicious food and drink.
There will be music on the main stage – THE HEADSET – with featured bands to include The Black Rat Effect, Florence Black and The Gun Powder Plot to name just a few. Sit back and enjoy the entertainment while watching all the bike action from around the county on the big screens in the park.
As well as local food and drink, there will be art and crafts on sale with many ‘Have a Go’ activities for all ages to enjoy and get involved in.
On Saturday the Sportive starts and finishes from the park, so cheer the athletes off on their journey around the county and welcome them back at the end.
Sunday’s fun and excitement kicks off with a Tiny Tots Sportive, starting at 11.30am for the under 5s. Bring them along with their little bike and helmet, (don’t forget your camera) and they may be lucky enough to win their first proper bike!
Pimp Your Ride with funky accessories, glitter and stickers. Find our stand within the LIFE CYCLE area of the park. Join the Pedal Powered Parade setting off at 2.00pm on Sunday for a circuit of the park. Spot prizes will be awarded on the day for best fancy dress and most innovative creations.
The Sunshine Radio Bus will be on site all weekend broadcasting news, views and music throughout.

Sunday
The Champs set off from the town centre and follow the Gold Route around the county.

2:00 pm Pedal Powered Parade around the Park
When the Champs return to Abergavenny the route will take in The AVENUE within Bailey Park itself. Cheer them on as they flash past on the final laps to the finishing line! See all the action on the BIG SCREEN
4:00 pm Trading ceases and all eyes turn to THE FINAL. Be there to cheer on the winner of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
