Our Lady and St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Primary School is located in the heart of Abergavenny.  The School is all inclusive with pupils from Catholic and other Christian backgrounds attending with many of our pupils having no religious background, but their families embracing our Christian ethos of:-
Living, Loving, Learning and Growing in Jesus

The School caters for 210 children from Reception to year 6 and our current plans include developing the outdoor areas of our Foundation Classes and the opening of our brand new ‘Smart Library’.  Our grounds are beautiful, with lots of space for outside play.  The School has a varied programme of clubs and activities that run during lunchtime and after school and all classes have access to music tuition.
The Management and Staffing Team of the School work hard to ensure that educational standards are continually improving, with particular emphasis placed on improving the literacy skills of both boys and girls.
We have an active Governing body as well as the Friends of OLSM who organise social events for parents and children alike giving plenty of opportunities for parents and the wider school community to get involved with the School.
The School has a thriving breakfast and after School club called Michael’s Mates that also runs a holiday club making life easier for parents and carers to juggle the pressures of modern day life.  The School has its own kitchen that provides healthy school meals at lunchtime with fruit served as a snack during the morning break.
The School works alongside our neighbour Fr. Thomas Regan, the Parish Priest at Our Lady and St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church.  Some highlights of the School calendar are the traditional Nativity Play performed by the infant Children and the Advent Carol service performed by the Junior Children held in Church. These moving services provide quality time to reflect in the busy run up to Christmas.
The School ethos is based on Christian values, we offer a nurturing environment for children to learn and grow with every child being cared for as an individual.  If you need a School place for September 2012 or at any time, then please get in touch. At our School everyone is welcome.
