Our concert takes you on a journey from the Renaissance era withJohn Dowland’s intricate Fantasy for lute, and then forward through time to theClassical period with Mauro Giuliani’s Sonata Op. 15 for guitar. JohannSebastian Bach’s timeless Prelude for keyboard will showcase the beauty andcomplexity of Baroque music. This exciting concert then explores the sounds ofthe 20th and 21st centuries with works a beautifully mournful piano piece fromMaurice Ravel reimagined for the piano, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco invoking thepaintings of Spanish painter Fransisco Goya, Litha Efthymioua, and GianfrancoMorittu.
Renata Arlotti began studying classical guitar in her hometown,Sassari, and then continued in Milan under the guidance of the famous soloistLorenzo Micheli.
Her debut album Suites and Homages (2018), published by theStradivarius record company and dedicated to the music of MarioCastelnuovo-Tedesco and Vicente Asencio, received enthusiastic reviews fromaudiences and critics, for the magazines “Musica” (Disc of the month ), “IlFronimo”, “Seicorde”, “Amadeus”, “American Record Guide”, “DotGuitar” , “GendaiGuitar” and many others.
