FREE TALK – Tackling the climate and nature emergencies – from childcare to a local food economy

Following on the success of their free talk about the states of local rivers, Abergavenny and Crickhowell Friends of the Earth are pleased to invite you to another FREE TALK at the Kings Arms Hotel.

Local Campaigners, Cllr Catherine Fookes and Duncan Fisher share their thoughts on different ways to tackle the climate crisis. This will be a discussion based event with lots of opportunity to ask questions.

Catherine Fookes is  Chief Executive of a charity campaigning for a fairer Wales for women. Before this, Catherine was an environmental campaigner at Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming where she campaigned for sustainable agriculture and food.

Duncan Fisher is a manager of the local campaign, Our Food 1200, seeking to secure 1200 acres of vegetable growing as the foundation for a new local food economy. Previously Duncan has worked in child development and gender equality.
