Abergavenny Film Society Screening: The Eight Mountains (12)

Though 147 minutes long this beautiful film is a joy to watch. It tells the story of Pietro, from Turin, whose parents rent a holiday house in the Aosta Valley where he meets Bruno, a local lad. The boys develop a lifelong friendship and we see them meeting up repeatedly, sharing a love of the mountains around Aosta. Predictability their lives and experiences diverge, but their respect for each other and the local Alps endures.
