Abergavenny Film Society Screening: Close (12A) 105mins

This French film won the Grand Prix in Cannes in 2022 and is a powerful, poetic study of youth. It focuses on two boys whose friendship is challenged as they enter adolescence. Pressures from schoolmates add to their distress and the consequences are devastating. This film is likely to be upsetting but its themes are important and very well portrayed.
