Llandegfedd Sailing Club is offering opportunities this spring for youngsters to get busy on the water.
The club’s super racing begins Sunday 5th March and new members are welcome – you don’t have to be a seasoned racer to join in. Llandegfedd Reservoir is located between Usk and Pontypool and is around eight miles north of Newport.
Junior Beginner sailing starts after Easter on Thursday evenings. The club teaches those eight years and over how to sail in fun Fevas- two person dinghies and exciting Topper -single handers. Then there are our 4.2 Topper and Feva training squads.
Some of their Juniors are having fantastic training and racing in national squads.
There is the Royal Yachting Association Push the Boat Out Day on Saturday 13th May for adults and families to have a trial sail and if you decide to join them there is the Club’s Adult Level 1 and 2 course on Saturdays in June.
The club has 16 boats for members use, and you can sail from dawn to dusk seven days a week at the Reservoir. To find out more, see the website www.llandegfedd.org.uk or email training@llandegfedd.org.uk
