Crickhowell’s adventure shop has been named one of Britain’s best outdoor stores – and it could take the top prize if enough people vote for it.
Crickhowell Adventure Gear has been shortlisted in The Great Outdoors Awards 2015 competition to find the best independent retailer.
Shop Manager, Jane Bradbury, said she was “gob smacked” when she heard of the nomination. “It’s really exciting,” she said. And shop owner, Geoff Thomas, said he was “delighted and honoured”.
The nominations are made by readers of the UK-wide The Great Outdoors Magazine, and Crickhowell Adventure is up against competition from small shops from Aberdeen to Accrington to Cambridge.
Crickhowell’s shop local campaign, Totally Locally, is urging people to vote for the store before the deadline of November 15th. Chair, Emma Bevan, said “Crickhowell Adventure is a shining example of what makes the town great – small, independent shops offering friendly, knowledgeable service. Please support them”.
