Let the bells at Llangattock ring out this Christmas, with a celebration of the season of goodwill, in floral displays.
Depicting the different and varied Village bells that herald the arrival of Christmas is quite challenging, but the local community and friends from Abergavenny, Tredegar, Newport and Brecon Floral Societies will rise to the occasion. Visitors can be assured of high quality and interest in the variety of different bells and arrangements to be featured.
Do you remember your old village school bell and the excitement in the air as the term ended for Christmas? What about the bell in the Village shop which sounded when you opened the door to find an Aladin’s cave of Christmas fare inside. Some shops even cooked the Christmas puddings for their customers. Join us for a trip down memory lane. Many of the bells will be unexpected, but most, not all, have local connections.
Amongst the other bells will be a display of Christmas in the Grand House, with the Victorian table groaning under the magnificent feast set upon it. The Christmas fare will be depicted by floral designs. Contrasting this opulence will be the sparsity of Llangattock workhouse at the season of Goodwill!
To widen the community involvement we have even had a team of knitters making bells!
The Sunday School have been busy making stars to enhance the welcome and Rudolph and his friend will be putting in an appearance.
Do come and visit the Festival and help the bells ring out this Christmas, not only in Llangattock near Crickhowell, but far and wide.
We look forward to welcoming you to rejoice in the spirit of Christmas.
