Abergavenny Community Centre is a new Community Centre in the heart of Abergavenny. Marion Pearse, Centre Manager, answers a few questions about the Centre.
What is Abergavenny Community Centre?
It’s a place for local people to meet and get to know each other, a place to share and a place where giving is valued. We aim to bring people together, as we understand that life can be complicated and that the best kind of help is simple, practical and within easy reach.
It’s a family-friendly, multi-generational, multi-cultural place where you, and your family can come to play, work, learn, create, eat, drink, talk and listen. It’s a place for you to belong.
Who runs it?
Our Centre is run by volunteers; it’s a community driven enterprise – local residents, who are living, working, parenting, growing-up and growing older in Abergavenny. We are a Community hub and our strength is building relationships – the better these are, the more people come, enjoy the space and feel welcomed.
Who is it for?
It’s for everyone. It’s an amenity for providing activities for local people. A place where local people can come together.
And where is it?
The former Park Street Infant School, with the entrance on Park Street and access also from Merthyr Road.
What happens at the Centre?
