Focus Magazines The local magazines for Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Brecon & Talgarth – Events, News and Advertising

We are delighted to announce the recent completion of the new Welcome Room. This warm, bright reception area, along with new toilet facilities has recently been built using a generous grant awarded by the Garfield Weston Anniversary Fund charitable trust, and the Abergavenny Town Council, whose funding has been used to create another heating zone, saving energy and keeping people warm.

The idea of the Welcome Room is to greet new and ‘old’ visitors alike, to help people feel at home, and provide details about activities and opportunities at the centre.

The Welcome Room is more than just a reception area, however. It can be booked for all kinds of one-off or regular small meetings. Friendship circles, individuals and hobby groups will find it a convenient and hospitable space to gather, talk and work. Everyone is welcome to call in for a coffee and a chat, alone or with friends, at any time during opening hours.

The Welcome Room is a comfortable and airy space with large feature windows, a kitchen area, seating and tables. A beautiful refectory style table was made using benches from the old Infants School.

We are hoping that the new space will mark the beginning of a new era. It’s a chance for more people to get involved and to contribute to making the Community Centre a warmer, more caring and responsive place for everyone.
