Bridges Centre is a lively organisation which remains true to its original aims: to build bridges between people from all parts of the community.
Volunteering for Wellbeing works within Bridges Centre to promote happiness and wellbeing in Monmouthshire. We provide a range of wellbeing opportunities across the county such as social groups, providing companionship through befriending and offering practical support such as gardening and shopping. We are always looking for new volunteers to get involved.
Volunteering for Wellbeing is a Bridges project recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to provide support to others in the community.
You are able to support the project in lots of different ways from baking a cake to sharing a skill or just taking someone out for a cup of tea. We believe that everyone can offer some time to help others and we appreciate any time you can spare!
Helping others and doing something meaningful can really help people feel good about themselves and can be a great way of building confidence to access further training and employment. We all need different things to feel well and happy. Some people may be able to ‘give’ support and some may need to ‘receive’ support, but we can all benefit from being with others and doing activities we enjoy.
To get involved and give something back to your community please get in contact. wellbeing@bridgescentre.org.uk or phone the Abergavenny Co-ordinators, Charmaine Cunningham on 07970108623 or Sue Jones on 07813349692.
