Residents and organisations are invited to share ideas and plans for 2028 to help shape a bid that celebrates Abergavenny’s unique identity and community pride.
Tourism and Heritage Cluster Agreement
Abergavenny and Blaenavon have announced a new three-year Tourism and Heritage Cluster Agreement, uniting their communities to celebrate their distinct identities, shared history and stunning landscapes while welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond. In Abergavenny, highlights include Abergavenny Castle Museum and the surrounding Abergavenny Three Peaks, while Blaenavon is home to the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape, featuring Blaenavon Ironworks, Big Pit National Coal Museum and the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway.
Connected by dramatic scenery, the area offers outdoor adventure from Keeper’s Pond and the Garn Lakes to Blorenge and Castle Meadows, attracting walkers, cyclists and visitors from near and far. Together, the two towns are championing their heritage, culture and community spirit to build a vibrant, collaborative future.
