Abergavenny Community Centre is delighted to announce the launch of the Community Kitchen.
The kitchen is a fantastic facility for the community, and we are happy to announce two new community-dining experiences:
See You For Lunch: Each Wednesday 12.30- 1.30pm a two-course meal is available to anyone who would like to come. So, if you’re a freelancer, working from home or, if you like the idea of company and a home-cooked meal, please try us. Booking is essential. Suggested donation £5.
The World Café: Once a month on a Friday evening, we’ll be serving food from around the world. The project is an offshoot of an initiative we’ve called the culture kitchen which brings people together to grow, prepare and share food. Starts June.
The Community Kitchen can cater for celebrations, gatherings and business events. We’ll even prepare a working breakfast!
Perhaps you run a cottage industry or, looking to start one? Would you like support to develop a new enterprise, or maybe you need to hire a community kitchen? If so, come and talk to us.
Other plans include:
- Community Fridge scheme
- Pop up’ cafe
- Learn to cook opportunities for adults and children of all abilities
It’s our aim to use local produce whenever possible, and to encourage seasonal eating. We are working in community partnership with Tesco in their Farm to Fork scheme, and their Fare Share scheme to cut down on food wastage.
We welcome all those who would like to be involved in what will be, some very exciting times ahead.
