Theatr Brycheiniog, situated at the picturesque canal side location in the heart of Brecon, offers a range of exciting performances for the whole family. From classic children’s books, to plays, music and comedy, we have it all.
June is packed with all sorts of treats including a moving and inspiring new play on the 8 June called Belonging. All about dementia, Belonging dispels myths and shines a light on how a dementia-friendly Wales can be created by just being yourself. In contrast Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch bring an afternoon performance of Diwrnod Hyfryd Sali Mali on the 15 June, a delightful Welsh-language stage play for 3-7 year olds based on Mary Vaughan Jones’ classic characters – a perfect school outing for a magical journey of adventure. And for anyone who loves a bit of dance, London Studio Centre’s Jazz Dance Company is sure to impress you. Exploring fairytales and folk stories these talented dancers will burst into life on the 16 June with their high energy and skilful performances.
When the festive season approaches, children and families are always the focus and this year is no exception. 2016 marks 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl and what a better way to celebrate this great storyteller than with a performance in December by Birmingham Stage Company’s George’s Marvellous Medicine. They return to Brecon with one of Roald Dahl’s funniest and most exciting stories about a young boy who makes a marvellous new medicine to cure his grandmother of her terrifying temper. George’s voyage will be starting soon enough but there is always an adventure to discover at Theatre Brycheiniog no matter how old you are.
