LushTums is a brand new pregnancy yoga class taking place at Abergavenny Community Centre.
LushTums can help you to better enjoy your pregnancy and prepare you physically and mentally for birth and early motherhood, as well as giving you the chance to meet lots of other lovely mums-to-be!
At LushTums we focus key movements to help baby into good positions for birth. We also learn Birth Breathing techniques to use during labour and birth. Yoga can help to prevent and alleviate many pregnancy ailments such as back-ache, insomnia, SPD and heartburn as well as keeping you fit, strong and healthy throughout your pregnancy!
A typical LushTums class consists of a series of Asanas; movements, poses and sequences to help you feel more comfortable and aware of your pregnant body. We also practice a Savasna at the end of every class; a 20 minute deep relaxation that can be as beneficial to you and your baby as 3 hours of unbroken sleep! Deep relaxation can also really help to reduce anxiety and promote deep sleep – something we all need a bit more of during pregnancy!
I am a mum of two girls and actually practiced LushTums yoga myself during my second pregnancy. The breathing techniques and movements I learned really helped me during labour. It was a totally different experience to the first time I gave birth, so much so I felt inspired to share this learning, knowledge and empowerment with other mums-to-be and so here I am!
LushTums runs every Saturday morning as a drop in class, although booking your mat is highly advisable due to the popularity of the class. I also run a Thursday evening class at The Priory, Monmouth.
