Gabb and Co Solicitors have been busy raising money for charity.
They recently took part in ‘The Wallich Clash of the Corporate Challenge’ to raise money for The Wallich charity who support the homeless in Wales. The charity believes that everyone deserves the right to a home and that everyone deserves the right to feel safe, to feel valued, and to feel positive about their future.
Seventeen businesses, which included ‘Subway’ and ‘Peacocks’ took part in the challenge and each were given a £50.00 seed investment to grow over the course of 50 days into as much money as they could, which would then be donated to charity.
Using their £50, Gabb and Co organised several charity events including a ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ competition which they ran during the Usk show, encouraging visitors to their stand to participate in the competition. There was also a staff ‘Bake Off’, a car wash which was held in the car park at their Crickhowell Office and a Halloween party.
Gabb and Co managed to raise a fantastic £735.00 from their original £50, and they came 6th out of the 17 businesses!
Laura Carr, Trainee Solicitor at Gabb and Co said the following:
“We are lucky enough to have a team at Gabb and Co who are enthusiastic and passionate about fundraising for local charities. As a firm we try to get involved in as much charity work as we can and we are really pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
Gabb and Co’s next charity event is a quiz night for local businesses taking place on 5th February 2016.
