The Crickhowell Dial-a-Ride service is available to anyone living in Crickhowell and it’s surrounding area who is over the age of 60 or anyone, of any age, who has disabilities of any sort. We offer a door to door service with our nine seater minibus which also has a tail lift facility for wheelchair users.
We offer a unique service where our fully trained and qualified drivers and escorts will assist you from your front door to do your shopping, attend medical http://pharmacy-no-rx.net/xenical_generic.html; appointments and much more. We can take your bags from shop to kitchen. Even if you have your own means transport you are still eligible.
Every Tuesday the bus goes to Abergavenny and will drop you off and pick you up in the Town Centre, Aldi’s or Waitrose. Thursday morning is a local run into Crickhowell where there is the chance to visit the post office, bank, opticians or other shops and finish off with tea/coffee and a chat in the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre.
Friday gives the opportunity to visit Morrisons, either in Brecon or Ebbw Vale.
Sometimes extra trips are arranged to visit Garden Centres, Lunches out etc.. You can meet friends you have not been able to keep in touch with or perhaps meet a few new ones.
All this for an annual membership of £10 and fuel cost for each trip. For example £4 return to Abergavenny if you live in Crickhowell. We are a registered charity and rely on donations and fund raising to provide this service as well as membership fees.
We are manned entirely by volunteers who can choose to do as much as they are able. They do not have to give a regular commitment and are highly thought of by our members. No matter what the volunteers do they will all tell you they find it very enjoyable and rewarding.
