Anticipation is rising in Gilwern as preparations are under way for the Annual Victorian Christmas Market and Concert. The centre of the village will magically transform into a Fair from the bygone era of Dickens. Craft stalls will line the main street in front of Hope Church who are organising the event with local support.
Jugglers and stilt performers practice while rehearsals by the children of Gilwern Primary School and Hope musicians prepare the entertainment that will help create the enchanted atmosphere. Twinkling lights, carols, aroma of mulled wine will add to the ambience for merry makers and most importantly a letter has been sent to the North Pole to invite a very special person.
Gilwern is a neighbourhood with real soul and in the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ Hope Church provide the whole affair for free to everyone attending the community event from 3-6pm on Saturday 5th December.
