Local storyteller Daniel Morden is hosting a unique event in Abergavenny next month – a performance by folk legend Robin Williamson.
“It is a dream come true,” said Daniel. “Robin is a wonderful storyteller. His stories are hilarious and magical by turns. He has the timing of a comedian and the turn of phrase of a poet. He also plays a range of instruments, including harp and guitar. He is the closest we have to the bards of old. I saw Robin perform a few years ago and was enthralled. Ever since then I have wanted to give the people of Abergavenny the chance to enjoy him too!”
Robin was one of the founder members of the hugely influential Incredible String Band. He has been a key figure in the storytelling revival since the 1980s. He has toured all over the world, breathing new life into ancient celtic songs and stories.
What better way to spend a winter’s evening than in the company of a master storyteller?
