MAGIC, which stands for Monmouthshire All-Ability Group for Inclusive Communities, is a group of local parents who are bringing up children and young adults with disabilities and additional needs in Monmouthshire. Like all parents, the group wants their children to be happy and safe as they move into adult life.

The MAGIC group was formed in 2013 to work together to improve the range of opportunities that are available in Monmouthshire for young people with disabilities. The group believes there should be more places in Monmouthshire where young people with disabilities can meet up with other people and be part of community life. They also believe that there should be more local options for young people who need specialist accommodation and for families who need respite support.

The group’s main aim is to provide a support network for families in and around the Monmouthshire area who have young people with additional needs dealing with transition issues such as: moving on from school or preparing for adulthood. Additionally, the group campaigns for and aims to create better opportunities for individuals and families with additional needs, into and throughout adulthood, in and around the Monmouthshire area. The group was recently fortunate to receive £420 in donations as a result of the ‘green token’ Community Matters campaign run by Waitrose each month, and is extremely thankful for support it received.

MAGIC meets every month in different venues across Monmouthshire and welcomes all parents and supporters who are interested in joining them.
