Located just outside Abergavenny, in Pandy, the Rising Sun is a friendly and welcoming pub. During the past four years the premises have been updated and improved, to now include a brand new catering kitchen and, more recently, the completion of 4 lovely en-suite B&B rooms which are comfortable and tastefully furnished.

The Rising Sun appeals to a wide range of people. The Pub, restaurant, games room, skittle (pre-booked) campsite, children’s play area and the Bed & Breakfast means there’s something to attract most people. They also offer a skittle night for a group of 10 or more (pre-booking required).

The Pub serves a wide variety of Real Ale, generally sourced from local brewers, and the pub has recently won the accolade of being included in the Good Beer Guide for 2014.

The Rising Sun serves fresh produce, which is locally sourced (where possible). They serve traditional pub fare, including their signature pies which are hugely popular – a selection of at least four featuring on the menu at any given time! Fresh field mushroom, broccoli and Stilton pie featured on the menu in August, thanks to a glut of mushrooms foraged from the fields around the pub.

Sunday Carveries are popular with customers, with three meats (beef, pork and turkey) available.

There is a range of homemade desserts available from the menu such as Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate cake, Honeycomb parfait, Apple Pie, Brownie Sundae, creme Brulee and a plum crumble made using the plums from the trees on the campsite – you can’t source it more locally than that!
