Focus Magazines The local magazines for Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Brecon & Talgarth – Events, News and Advertising

abergavennyfocus_October2013-coverDear Readers,

Welcome to the October issue of the Focus. Summer seems to have ended all too soon, and the nights are drawing in. Despite the autumnal turn in the weather, there is still plenty going on in and around Abergavenny for all of us to enjoy. You can see what’s happening by turning to our Events Calendar on pages12 – 13, which is a useful guide to keep handy when planning your month ahead.

This month we’ve also put together a Pick of the Pubs section. If you’re looking for a great evening out, a delicious Sunday lunch or somewhere pleasant to meet with friends, check out the fabulous pubs featured on pages 33 – 41. You can be sure to enjoy a relaxing drink and a scrumptious meal in these fine establishments.

I know it’s only October, but it’s nearing that time of the year when we need to start thinking about, dare I say it….Christmas. Keep a look out in our forthcoming issues of the magazine for Christmas offers and events. We’ll be championing our local businesses this year by encouraging everyone to support our independent retailers over the festive season by shopping locally. Watch this space…

Finally, we’re delighted to announce that Red Builders in Abergavenny won our Loyalty Draw this month, which we hold in recognition of the loyal advertisers who appear in our magazine on a monthly basis. They win a full page of advertising, and you can see their advert on page 42. Congratulations to them.

Happy Reading,

Hannah
