The Kings Head Hotel is a well run pub in the heart of Abergavenny, priding itself on its cosy and friendly atmosphere. It is owned and run by husband and wife team, Ken and Ruth Watkins, who both grew up locally. The pub is a landmark in Abergavenny, having been part of the town since way back in the 17th century when it was a coaching inn.
Everyone is made to feel welcome at the Kings Head, especially those who enjoy music, thanks to lively 70’s and 80’s music nights every Friday evening and regular monthly acoustic clubs. As well as the pub, there are fourteen ensuite rooms, a Coach House function room which can hold up to 50 people for functions and conferences, a quiet courtyard garden, and Venue 59 – its very own restaurant situated just next door.
Bar meals are available every day in the pub, alongside a good selection of cider and real ale. Next door at Venue 59, you can enjoy a stunning steak and ale pie, fabulous Sunday lunches (which Ruth and Ken say are the best in town) as well as many traditional favourites from their extensive menu.
