Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry who were moved to ‘do their bit’ after a visit to Selly Oak Hospital in 2007.  Help for Heroes was launched on 1 October 2007.

On May 22nd 2013 Heroes Challenge UK will commence at John O’Groats, Scotland. This incredible challenge encompasses all part of the UK, and is a unique and physically demanding event, which aims to raise £100,000 for Help for Heroes. The event will cover 1283 miles of the UK by land, sea and air – a challenge which to date has not been achieved.

The team of 12, supported by an Army logistics unit, and support team will cycle a total of 1206 miles, row across the Irish Sea (17 miles there and 18 miles back!), summit the UK’s four highest peaks (Ben Nevis 4409 ft, Slieve Donard 2789 ft, Scafell Pike 3029 ft and Snowden 3560 ft (totaling 13,787 ft)), before completing the ride to Lands End. On arrival at Lands’ End the team will board a plane and skydive from 15,000 feet to end the challenge in Swansea Airport on May 31st.  The team will travel through Wales on 28 and 29th May en-route to Hereford.

A Gala dinner was held in the Liberty Stadium on April 6th to raise funds for the challenge, with a raffle and auction of truly unique items.
