If you look up “Probus” you will find something like, “Probus Clubs worldwide provide regular gatherings to those who in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances and of a similar level of interest”.
Abergavenny Isca Probus is open to all professional men and business men in the area who have fully or partly retired. At their fortnightly meetings at the Lamb and Flag Hotel, Abergavenny club members have recently enjoyed talks on a diverse range of subjects including Industrial Art, Victorian gadgets, London childhood in the 40’s and 50’s, and a daring escape from an Australian Penal settlement. There have also been social occasions including a visit to the Morgan Car factory, an evening of skittles, as well as regular dinners.
