If there’s one way to get a fully immersive great outdoors experience, it’s via the medium of a Festival. We’ve all seen the photographs of festival goers thigh deep in mud, floating tents and epic queues for toilets. Oh yes. But festivals are such good fun and this year’s Green Man Festival, taking place between 16th and 19th August, will be no exception.
Luckily for us, the Green Man music festival is set in the heart of the beautiful Black Mountains, so it’s right on our very own doorstep. The river Usk flows around the perimeter and Table Top and Sugar Loaf mountains stand impressively as the backdrop to the Mountain Stage. The Times says ‘’Of all the festivals in all the fields in Britain, probably the best field of all has been bagged by the Green Man’’…Lucky us!
Whilst the festival is 100% independent, it still draws a stellar line up of performers each year, spanning the music spectrum- including indie, psychedelia, Americana and folk, as well as DJs playing everything from dub-reggae to electro and stoner rock. There’s also Comedy, Cinema, literature, Einstein’s Garden, Nature & Nurture and many, many more magical surprises to make sure you have the most magical weekend of your year.
Now all we have to do is keep our fingers crossed that the sun will shine!
