The Olympic Torch is a symbol of the Olympic Games and, to mark the 2012 London Olympics, the Torch Relay will start in Land’s End on 19th May and travel around the UK for 70 days in the lead up to the opening ceremony.
On 25th May 2012 the Olympic Torch arrives in Wales at Monmouth and begins its Welsh relay passing through Monmouth, Raglan and Abergavenny. To help you make the most of the event we have included details of the torch relay times, a map of the route and details about temporary road closures on the day.

10:44 Monmouth School and Leisure centre
11:04 On to Dixton Road, Monmouth
11:08 The Torch enters Agincourt Sq. Monmouth
11:14 The Torch will reach the Monnow bridge
11:17 The Torch leaves Monmouth
11:29 The Torch arrives in Raglan
11:32 The Torch travels through Raglan via the High St.

11:48 The Torch arrives in Abergavenny and travels down the A40 to the A4143

Road Closures
The following roads will be temporarily closed on the 25th May 2012 to accommodate the Olympic Flame and torchbearers.
The following roads will be closed from 7:00am to 4:00pm:
Frogmore Street, High Street.
The following roads will be closed from 12:00 to 12:45pm:
Brecon Road, Merthyr Road, Lion St., Monk St., Cross St., Monmouth Rd.
