Whether you’re opting for a real or fake Christmas tree this year, be sure to follow our simple guide to creating a beautiful festive centrepiece for your home…
Before you do anything, make sure your tree lights are in good working order and then place them evenly around your tree. LED lights are cost effective and stay cooler, making them a much safer option.
When placing your baubles, start with the largest first, spacing them out evenly. Use one strong main colour, such as gold, for the larger baubles.
Now add an accent colour using smaller baubles. Different colour combinations will produce different effects. Blue and silver will be wintry and icy, while bronze and purple will create a much warmer feel. Try to avoid combinations that will clash with your room’s existing décor.
At this point, add the remainder of your decorations. There is a wealth of ideas available in high street shops and garden centres which often group themes and colours together in their festive displays.
Finish the look by adding a tree topper. An angel is traditional, or opt for a sparkly star – the choice is yours.
Merry Christmas!
