Dear Readers,
After the hectic rush of December followed by the dark dullness of January, it’s quite understandable that by February many of us feel a bit, well, lost. Maybe that’s why they invented Valentine’s Day and Shrove Tuesday – to pep us all up a bit. For those without a partner, they could at least look forward to dampening their sorrows in a pile of pancakes.
But seriously, January and February can feel pretty depressing, so we thought it would be useful to put together this month’s Focus around the theme of ‘reconnection’ to help us re-group and re-focus for the year ahead. We have lots of articles on this topic for you to enjoy.
Our newest columnist, Dr Giles Croft, talks about how reconnection starts with you, and it’s something that I can definitely identify with. Like many, I’ve been doing dry January and trying to cut down my intake of meat for both environmental and health reasons. But what happens at the end of January? I’ll certainly need to re-connect with the ideas that motivated me to get started in the first place. I’ll keep you posted on how that goes…
Lots for you to enjoy in this month’s magazine and plenty of local goings on to read about and get involved in too – all in the name of reconnecting with the community in which we live.
Enjoy the read!
