Abergavenny Origami Club was formed to spread awareness and share the knowledge of origami and the fun and joy one can have while making it, whether it is a flower, plane, box, bird or any other items that one can imagine!
We are based in the Abergavenny Community Centre and hold several workshops through the seasons.
Typically, through the year we hold 3 to 4 adults workshops and 2 children’s workshops. Diagrams and materials will be provided for each specific item we will be folding. Folders of any experience level are welcome
During the summer we will be holding Summer Origami Clubs in July/August where people can bring their own projects and have fun folding anything they want!
We also run the “1,000 Cranes Project’ with the Abergavenny Community Centre from July 2015, to bring us longevity and good fortune. With the participation of the members of the community, the “1,000 Cranes” were completed on 29th October, 2016. At the same time we have installed an Origami Tree on the wall right under the cranes, where origami creations folded by everyone depicting the four seasons and also photos of our past workshops and activities will be decorating the tree.
Please pop over to the Abergavenny Community Centre if you are around to take a look at the cranes and the Origami Tree on full display!
