On Saturday 20th November Rotarians were out and about again, encouraging donations from passing motorists at Crickhowell’s river bridge. Rotarians collected £1779.

This worthy cause which takes place nationally every year is led by the BBC’s Telethon in an effort to raise money for ‘Children in Need.’

All the money collected by Crickhowell Rotary goes to the charity helping to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK. Crickhowell’s Rotarians dressed up in their usual eye catching headgear and tabards to collect cash very generously donated by passing motorists.

Crickhowell Rotary Club are delighted with yet another success in 2021 raising cash for another very worthy cause. The club’s total charitable fund raising including the Duck Race since June 2021 now amounts to well over £12,500

Commenting, the Club’s President Dave Thomas said “club members commitment and energy in supporting good causes in the last year had been nothing short of remarkable given the difficulties faced during the course of the pandemic. The club has been dynamic in it’s approach to significant challenges .”

He continued “Crickhowell Rotary Club offers people from all walks of life the opportunity to become involved in an exciting organisation that reaches out to causes locally, nationally and internationally.
