Focus Magazines The local magazines for Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Brecon & Talgarth – Events, News and Advertising

Everyone is aware that where our planet is concerned, there are some pretty scary statistics to be aware of, like the twelve million tonnes of plastic in our oceans and the warnings given by experts that urgent and unprecedented changes are needed to address global warming. Without taking action, in as little as twelve year’s time, we’ll be in catastrophic trouble. It’s scary isn’t it? But it also feels like a problem that’s insurmountable. What can we possibly do that would make any kind of difference?

I was so surprised when I put out a call to readers of the Focus to contact me about stories and news concerning what’s being done to protect our environment at a local level. In short, there’s a lot going on and a lot that you can do yourself or get involved in within our community. Take a look at our featured articles on the topic to find out more. Perhaps they will inspire you to get involved or take further action if you haven’t done so already.

Lots more to enjoy in this month’s Focus too – it seems March is a time for Festivals, with the International Women’s Festival, Brecon Women’s Festival, Crickhowell Walking Festival and, in April, the Abergavenny Writing Festival, all taking place! We really are spoilt for choice with the amount happening in our local area. Naturally we have all of our regular articles for you to get stuck into as well, so get comfy and enjoy this month’s read.
