The family-friendly festival with FREE entry, takes place in the Castle grounds, with the beautiful backdrop of the building behind us.

On the 2 – 3 July, we will have craft stalls, workshops*, story-telling, face-painting, street food, folk musicians, buskers and Hay Community Choir, for two days of rural skills fun and learning – there truly is something for everyone of all ages and we have many families who are fans and visit each year.

We are THRILLED to have Puppet Soup performing their first showing of their new show, Jack and the Beanstalk, live in the grounds of the castle! www.puppetsoup.com – Perfect family entertainment!

To tempt your taste buds, we have the Crimson Moon Medieval Tavern – a fully functioning bar with ciders, wines, 20 types of mead… and in the evening, they have mulled ciders too! They will be in character throughout the weekend… www.crimson-moon.co.uk/about.htm – plus the Fabulous Cob Oven DIY pizzas and Mmm Coffee bar & café, plus Shepherds Ice cream served from a tricycle – children and kids-at-heart will love these treats!

In addition, the Hay Food Festival and Hay Does Vintage will be running over the weekend at the Butter-Market at the foot of the castle grounds!

Friday Night Exclusive:  Exhibition inside the castle by Rolf Hook, sculptor. Time: 8pm – 9:30pm… The exhibition is also open to the public on Saturday and Sunday (inside the castle) from 10:30am – 6pm. Rolf will run masterclasses each day, please check his website for details: www.rolfhook.com

Saturday runs from 10:30am – 5:30pm for workshops, and the public are welcome to stay on and listen to music and relax in the early evening too, and we will close the event at around 9pm. Sunday runs from 10:30am – 5:30pm
