Wealthy countrymen, eligible daughters, resourceful servants, bumbling suitors, jewels and jealousy – She Stoops to Conquer has all the elements of a classic costume drama.
Following the success of Dickens and Dylan in 2012, Swansea-based Lighthouse Theatre present a new fast-paced 80 minute adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith’s classic comedy of manners, money and mistaken identity. Using their trademark bold story-telling style, Lighthouse bring a lovingly irreverent version of this classic tale to the stage. Expect the unexpected; expect comedy, confusion and capers; and above all else, expect…wigs.
Combining the talents of Llinos Daniel, a familiar face to viewers of S4C and Sonia Beck, fresh from her successes as Edith Piaf and Stevie in Frank Vickery’s Barking, Lighthouse have gathered together one of their most talented companies yet, all directed by Derek Cobley.
Prior to a tour of Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Welsh Patagonia, Lighthouse are embarking on a tour of Welsh venues.
