Dear Readers,
Now don’t get me wrong, I do like a walk, but under very specific conditions and guidelines. Often, on a sunny day, Pete will suggest going for a lovely stroll. I’ve fallen foul of these lovely ‘strolls’ on many previous occasions. If you’re a regular reader, you will have seen from the walks that we feature, that Pete is a keen and ambitious walker, whereas I…am not. I’m very glad that he is, though, because he puts together fab walks for the Focus and really good artwork to accompany them, but our wayfaring tastes aren’t very compatible.
Basically I won’t walk up anything resembling a mountain, a hill or an incline. Quite ironic given my surname (although I married into that, so it’s not my fault!) and the fact that we live at the bottom of the Skirrid. With this in mind, I’m probably not the best person to present a walking issue of the Abergavenny Focus. Having said that, however, the walking feature we’ve put together for you this month is exciting enough to convert even the most reticent of ramblers like me. With news that Abergavenny has just been awarded with Walkers are Welcome status, alongside details on the forthcoming Crickhowell Walking Festival and much more besides, we think you’ll really enjoy what’s on pages 29 – 41
You’ll also see that we have some new pages in the magazine entitled ‘Community Hub’ covering all sorts of news and happenings that have been going on in Abergavenny. Feel free to submit an article to us for inclusion. Our website details can be found at the bottom of this page or just give me a call for a chat. I can’t guarantee to include you, but I’ll always do my best.
March is a busy month with St David’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter all happening! Don’t get bogged down in all the busyness of it all, though. Kettle on, bums on seats and enjoy your monthly Focus fix…
Happy Reading
Hannah
