Gwent Young People’s Theatre present their new production of Shakespeare’s glorious comedy in the perfect setting of Abergavenny Castle’s beautiful grounds. It’s a rollercoaster ride of high energy and emotions, full of humour, magic and fairies. A Midsummer Night’s Dream remains a firm favourite among theatergoers.

The story centres on four young lovers who take to the woods where they encounter an argument between the Fairy King and Queen. A sprinkling of magic dust creates comic consequences, particularly when a troupe of traveling players, including the unfortunate Bottom, stumbles into the mix.

The production is rich in colourful costumes, visual imagery and some of Shakespeare’s most beautiful poetry, which is guaranteed to bring a smile to young and old faces alike.
