I padded slowly, as most cats do, up to the old stable and peered inside the gap between the doors. I saw the hooves of the horse, and heard a gentle ‘neigh’ from inside. I decided to slink through the small gap, as most cats do. The horse leaned down and nuzzled my smooth, sleek, black fur and I let out a soft ‘meow’, as most cats do. The horse then became startled and dashed out of the stable door. Eek. I ran towards the dark, dank woods, in my attempt to pursue the mare, but soon found myself lost. I would’ve been able to navigate my way home, as most cats do, had it not been so dark. Through a gap in the trees I could see the North Star, and through my past experiences, I knew that I could use it to find my way. But first I had a horse to find. I could feel the tracks from the hooves, so I followed them. I heard a soft ‘neigh’, and dodged the horse speeding towards me.
By the time I got back, I had managed to round the horse back into the old stable, and made sure that the gap was shut. The farmer had heard the ruckus and came in to check on his horse. Just as the farmer was about to spot me, I curled up onto the floor and slept.
What a night.
