Winners of both the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition and Banff International String Quartet Competition, they were also awarded the Haydn and Canadian Commission prizes.\nTheir varied programme opens with Josef Haydn’s hugely popular Quartet Op33 No 6, followed by a long-standing favourite of the chamber music repertoire Debussy’s String Quartet. Written when Debussy was in his early thirties, it was startlingly unique for its time.
