Part of h.Energy Week, 13th – 20th October
To coincide with h.Energy Week, and their 10th birthday, Greenearth Energy is hosting a ‘Tea and Tours’ party at Treago Castle, St Weonards, on Thursday 18th October by kind invitation of Sir Richard and Lady Mynors.
Treago is a fortified manor house, built in 1500, but its status as one of the most important historical buildings in Herefordshire has not prevented the Mynors from pursuing a more sustainable lifestyle. Greenearth Energy has installed Solar PV and Solar Thermal to help make significant savings on heating and electricity bills at the Castle and its holiday cottages.
As well as an opportunity to view the installations at Treago Castle, the ‘Tea & Tours’ party will include tours around Garway and St Weonards showcasing Greenearth Energy installations. Renewable energy technologies on view will include Solar PV, Wind, Biomass, Solar Hot Water, Whole House Heat Recovery and Rainwater Harvesting.
Starting from 1pm, these informative tours will cover topics from surveys to installation, site factors for determining which technology to install, government incentives and our campaign for ‘whole house’ energy efficiency. The event is invitation only but 50 invites are available on a first come basis. To book your invite please contact Liz on 01981 241399 or email info@greenearthenergy.co.uk.
It’s ten years since Greenearth Energy fitted their first solar hot water panel in Herefordshire, and they installed their first wind turbine and biomass boiler in 2004. Since then they have fitted over 5MWp of Solar Panels around Herefordshire, Wales and the South West. Dai Rees, Director of Greenearth Energy, says “From listed castles to village halls, churches to barns, we have installed more than 25,000 panels – enough to power 1000 houses! We believe this makes us the largest PV installer in Herefordshire and the surrounding counties – by a large margin!”
